From January 21, 2005, Aeroflot-Russian Airlines introduces changes into schedule of flights to Bangkok. The flight Su -553 Moscow– Bangkok on Fridays and Sundays is to be united with the flight Su-551; the flight Su -553 on Mondays is cancelled. These changes are to be valid till February 1. From February 1 Aeroflot is to make flights to Bangkok four times a week: on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays (two flights). During the period planes of Il-96 type are to be operated on the route.
According to Aeroflot Commercial Director Yevgeny Bachurin, these changes are connected with the total reduction of passenger carriages to the region of South-Eastern Asia after tragic consequences of the earthquake and tsunami. “Since the fist day of the tragedy Aeroflot carried Russian citizens from the region of catastrophe to Moscow; it also made a decision to return the full fare for flights to Bangkok if passengers refuse traveling there. Aeroflot fulfils its obligations completely. Now when al the tasks are made the airline company decided to reduce flights to Thailand”, - said Mr. Bachurin.
