On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Vyacheslav Shtyrov

Today the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Vyacheslav Shtyrov, President of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

The parties discussed the status of the Cooperation Agreement between Gazprom and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). In particular, the meeting addressed issues related to the development of a gas production, processing and gas chemicals centre within the Eastern Program execution.

Reference:

The Development Program for an integrated gas production, transmission and supply system in Eastern Siberia and the Far East with possible gas export to China and other Asia-Pacific countries (the Eastern Program) was approved by the September 3, 2007 Order of the Industry and Energy Ministry of the Russian Federation. Gazprom was nominated by the Government of the Russian Federation as the Eastern Program coordinator.

The Agreement of Cooperation between the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and Gazprom was inked in July 2007. The document reflects the important role of the Sakha Republic as a promising gas centre under the Eastern Program.

Natural gas penetration in the household sector of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) is at 22.2%. In 2008 Gazprom will invest RUR 20 mln to gasify the Republic. These funds will be allocated to carry out design and survey work associated with the construction of gasification facilities.

Gazprom doesn’t supply gas to and doesn’t have any subsidiaries in the Republic.
