Moscow. 30 November 2004. The subsidiaries of RAO "UES of Russia" Holding Company are expanding the use of public tenders to purchase fuel. Recently, OAO "Krasnoyarskaya TPP-2" and OAO "Chitaenergo" determined the results of the public tenders to procure coal. The tender held by OAO "Krasnoyarskaya TPP-2" had 4 participants. The contract was awarded to ZAO "MezhRegionProm", which offered to supply 2.8 million tonnes of coal from the Kansky open-pit mine. In Chita, only one bid was submitted by SIBENCO for tender lot #1, which is why the tender was declared unsuccessful. On Lot #2 two bids were submitted. The contract was awarded to ZAO "TVEL-Invest-Technology", which supplies coal from the Urtuysky open-pit coal mine. The contractor will supply 1.9 million tonnes of coal.
In accordance with the published terms and conditions of the tenders, the Tender Commissions reviewed the submitted bids with respect to the price, terms of supply and quality of coal (calorific value, ash, sulphur, and moisture content) This helped them to choose a supply offering the best value for money.
Before the end of the year, fuel procurement tenders will be held by OAO "Khabarovskenergo" and OAO "Kharanorskaya TPP".
The implementation of the competitive procurement system has been underway at RAO "UES of Russia" since 1999. This work helps minimize procurement costs and make the use of funds at energy companies more transparent.
