TGC-9

November 2, 2007

Within preparation for autumn-winter period the reserve of chemical reagents has been formed at TGC-9 power stations in Perm Territory

Perm, 02.11.2007. Today all TGC-9 Perm HPP’s have the necessary reserve of chemical reagents to ensure the reliable operation of equipment within the maximum load of the autumn-winter period.

One of the most important conditions of reliable operation of HPP is the qualitative water treatment. The water treated through chemical water cleaning process is used to compensate the losses in steam cycle and in heating networks. The quality of the treated water depends on many factors, including the water supply sources, water cleaning systems, seasonal changes and technical parameters of equipment.

Different schemes of chemical water treatment with usage of ion exchange technology are applied at TGC-9 power stations in Perm Territory to get the water of the required quality. 48 names of filtering materials of chemical agents are used for water treatment and provision of the adequate water-chemical mode. Their total cost amounts to 200 mln rubles per year. Minimal consumption is seen during the summer time, and maximal – in winter. The consumption of reagents by the stations increases by 3-4 times during the cold period. This fact is caused by high loads on the heat-and-power equipment of HPP and seasonal poor quality of water.

Every year within the preparation for the winter, the reserve of chemical agents is formed at the stations. The basic reagents list includes sulfuric acid, alkali (caustic soda), sodium phosphate, coagulant, technical salt. The availability of such reserve ensures the stable operation of the stations during the winter time.
