COMSTAR extends customer care small office network at MTS exhibition shops

October 7, 2009, Moscow. COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, announces extension of their STREAM small service office network in Moscow. Starting October within the next two months seven more customer care small offices will be opened at OAO Mobile TeleSystems exhibition shops.

At present, three small offices operate at MTS exhibition shops in Moscow, namely, at Gorbushka, 7, Bagrationovsky drive, 42/1, Profsoyuznaya str., and 75/2, Ryazansky highway. Two more offices started their operations October 7 (18/5, Teterinsky lane, and 2A, Konstantina Simonova), with five more offices being ready to start their operations within the next two months.

In small offices an individual can subscribe to the STREAM services (broadband Internet access and interactive digital IP-TV) and COMSTAR-FON global network, apply for communication channel lease, tariff change, remake or terminate communication service provision agreement, provide subscription for value-added services. Office employees will render comprehensive support for STREAM, COMSTAR-FON and WiMAX services.

“Presently, we streamline our sales and customer care service network in Moscow gradually launching small offices. These are more cost-effective, relocatable, perform the complete range of required operations and located at places with the highest attendance: large malls and points of sale of our partners. This is a new operations format, quite apt under present circumstances. In the future, our small office network will be extended,” Sergei Terpugov, Mass Market Sales Director, COMSTAR-UTS, said.

“Besides, we focus more on the new, remote ways to communicate with our customers. It is often much more convenient for a user to subscribe for a specific service while at home or at work, than to visit our sales and service office solely for this purpose. We are actively developing such remote communication means, they are a united call center, our website, service auto-configuration CD disks obtainable with a large number of dealers.”
