Reference:
Central Asian natural gas is a crucial element in Gazprom’s overall resource base meeting gas needs of Russia, the CIS countries and West Europe.
The use of Central Asian gas is currently being most economically viable for Gazprom when supplying gas to the CIS countries. Given soaring state-regulated gas prices, Central Asian gas can be marketed in the future as a balancing element in Russia’s total gas sales.
In this connection, Gazprom is purposefully developing contractual documents meant to ensure Central Asian natural gas procurement, processing, transportation and marketing through an integrated export channel.
Gazprom has so far entered into respective cooperation agreements with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
