Today Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee, and Yury Boiko, Fuel and Energy Minister of Ukraine.
The parties discussed core issues for bilateral cooperation in the gas sector. In particular, Alexey Miller and Yury Boiko looked into issues on maintenance of Ukraine’s gas balance in the fourth quarter of 2006 and the first quarter of 2007.
The parties achieved an accord on Ukraine’s problem of gas balance deficit in the fourth quarter of 2006. This year the price issue for additional gas volumes will be resolved within competitive bidding taking into consideration strategic cooperation potential of Ukraine’s gas sector.
The meeting paid attention to Ukraine’s UGS gas pumping of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine for continuous gas deliveries to the country’s final consumers as well as providing Russian gas transit to Europe during the autumn/winter period of 2006-2007.
The Alexey Miller and Yury Boiko shared an opinion to resolve said issues in accordance with the market rules and obligatory implementation of the current agreements for gas deliveries and transit.
