COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (JSC COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS announced that starting mid-December 2009 MTS retail chain stores of Moscow and Zelenograd launches sales of Versatile Box Product to connect to STREAM Internet wireless broadband access1. At present, the Russian capital counts as many as 86 MTS sales offices and chain stores.

STREAM Versatile Box Product includes a ZTE ZXDSL 831 A II modem which supports ADSL2+ technology and IPTV service, a StreamWizard auto configuration CD Disk to independently configure a PC Internet connection on a Plug-and-Play basis, an access scratch card carrying authentication data to enable access to Internet and the subscriber personal cabinet, and telecom service provision contract.

"We leverage all we can to make our business grow while the process of MTS integration is underway. Our shareholder has a distributed chain of sales offices; hence, our potential users may easily subscribe to Internet broadband access service at MTS offices either in the vicinity of their house or their work. Later on, MTS retail chain of stores will provide connection to other services of COMSTAR-UTS Group of Companies," OJSC COMSTAR-UTS Mass Market Commercial Director, Sergey Terpugov said.

MTS sales offices feature as many as 10 STREAM sub-offices where the users can subscribe to STREAM services and the global COMSTAR-FON network, submit an application for link channel allocation, tariff plan change, re-signing or termination of telecom service provision contract, value-added service subscription. Office employees will render comprehensive support for STREAM, COMSTAR-FON and WiMAX services. 

Starting December 2009 a number of MTS offices also provide a box product to subscribe to Moscow Urban Telephone Network Internet access, a member of COMSTAR-UTS Group of Companies.
