Today the Central Music School of Beijing Conservatory has hosted the closing ceremony of Rachmaninoff Trio Master Classes in Beijing.
The ceremony was attended by Sergey Ushakov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Xing Weikai, Central Music School Principal of the Beijing Conservatory, teachers and students of Central Music School of Beijing Conservatory and artists.
“Classes and concerts for students of Chinese conservatories open new cooperation opportunities for our nations and stimulate further strengthening of the Russian-Chinese friendship,” said Sergey Ushakov.
“Thanks to Gazprom we have an opportunity to get to know better the Russian classic music. Master classes of excellent Russian pedagogues stimulate rapprochement of our cultures. Noticeably, the Year of Russia in China is coming to an end but our cooperation will continue as the year of 2007 will be the Year of China in Russia,” emphasized Xing Weikai.
The ceremony was followed by the gala concert involving Russian musicians and Chinese students who had attended the Master Classes.

The Rachmaninoff Trio consists of three members: Viktor Yampolsky (piano, leader of the Trio), Natalia Savinova (cello), and Mikhail Tsinman (violin).
Rachmaninoff Trio Master Classes in Beijing were held during November 13-17, 2006. Master Classes will also be held in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Nanjing. Russian musicians give concerts and piano, violin, cello classes to students of conservatories. The events are held in the framework of the Year of Russia in China.
