By the resolution of Gazprom Alexander Mandel has been appointed to the post of Director General of Sevmorneftegaz.

Alexander Mandel was born in 1950, in the town of Rozhyshche, Volyn Oblast, Ukrainian SSR.

In 1972 A. Mandel graduated from the Ivano-Frankovsky Oil and Gas Institute, getting specialty in Technology and Integrated Mechanization of Oil & Gas Field Development. A. Mandel holds a PhD degree in technical sciences.

From 1983 to 1984 Alexander Mandel served as Head of the Exploration Drilling Directorate with Sakhalinburgazrazvedka Association. From 1984 to 1996 – Mr. Mandel was Chief Engineer, Head of the Exploration Drilling Directorate, Deputy Director General for Drilling in Sakhalinmorneftegaz All-Union Production Association (from 1992 – AOOT Sakhalinmorneftegaz).

Between 1996 and 1999 Mr. Mandel held the post of Director General for Drilling and Production with Gazflot, RAO Gazprom’s subsidiary. Between 1999 and 2000 Alexander Mandel was First Deputy Director General of Gazflot, subsequently OOO Gazflot OAO Gazprom. Between 2000 and 2007 A. Mandel held the post of Director General of OOO Gazflot.

Alexander Mandel has been awarded with the 2nd Degree Order for the Outstanding Services to the Fatherland.

Yury Komarov, previously acting as Director General of Sevmorneftegaz, was relieved of his post due to his election as Chief Executive Officer in Shtokman Development AG.
