COMSTAR-UTS to provide communication in a number of large office centers in Moscow

June 26 2009, Moscow: COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading operator of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS, announces a number of partnership agreements to provide communication services in some large office centers in Moscow.

The most large-scale commercial real estate projects to be implemented by COMSTAR-UTS in the second half of 2009 in Moscow are four large office centers: Nordstar Tower at 2-20, block B Khoroshevskoe highway; WHITE SQUARE/AIG Lincoln White Horse located at the intersection of Lesnaya and Butyrsky Val streets; Red Rose 1875 at 16 Lev Tolstoy street; and Na Viktorenko at 3 Viktorenko street. These are Category A+ commercial real estate objects with total space of 328,700 sq. m. Under these projects, COMSTAR-UTS installs fiber optic lines, deploys communication nodes and installs the equipment required. COMSTAR-UTS has offered well-balanced solutions (in terms of cost efficiency and deadlines) for all owners of the office centers listed. The operator deploys telecom networks using the most advanced next-generation technology solutions (NGN) based on Cisco and Avaya hardware.

Networks built for commercial real estate objects in 2Q2009 provide local, intrazone, long-distance and international voice as well as data, broadband Internet and secured IP transport VPN (Virtual Private Network) services.

Roman Akatov, Commercial Director for corporate market of COMSTAR-UTS, says, “Successful implementation of such projects confirms that COMSTAR has managed to react to market conditions changed due to crisis. Despite unstable economic situation in the country and consequent decrease in growth of commercial real estate market, COMSTAR-UTS expands its presence in this segment which enables expansion of subscriber base. This is also proved by increased number of new contracts signed by COMSTAR-UTS corporate market business unit. Thus, the total space of projects launched in the first half-year amounts to over 1,100,000 sq. m. We are planning to further enhance the portfolio of projects to provide telephony and telecom infrastructure in large commercial real estate objects. We will focus on the existing objects as well as on objects which are on the final construction stage and have clear prospects of their lease.”

COMSTAR-UTS has been providing integrated telecom services for office spaces for several years already. For this time the company has gained an extensive experience in connection of office centers to its multi-service communication network.
