Rostelecom’s delegation participated in the 34^th session of the Board of the Communications Administrations (CAs) Heads of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (RCC) and the 9 ^th meeting of the Coordination Council for Informatization of the CIS countries attached to the RCC (May 22-23, 2006, Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan).

The session attendees focused on a wide range of issues including CAs cooperation, collaboration with international industry organizations and many others.

Rostelecom has enjoyed strong relationships with national operators of the CIS countries for a long time. Having direct connections with all CIS countries national operators, for them the Company is the main provider of traffic termination services to fixed-line and mobile networks of Russia.

During this session, Rostelecom’s representatives held a number of meetings with the RCC CAs Heads. The Company also provided its multimedia network to organize a videoconference, which connected Tashkent and Geneva where heads of delegations of RCC member states participated in the Regional Radio Communications Conference-2006.

The year 2006 features the 15^th anniversary of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications. At the moment there are eighteen RCC participants – twelve of them have a full members status, while six – an observer status. The Supreme organ of RCC is the Board of the Heads of the Communications Administrations (CAs). The RCC principle tasks are the extension of mutual beneficial relations between the RCC CAs in the course of harmonization of development of communications networks and facilities; coordination in the field of scientific and technical policy etc.
