In connection with the fact that Bereznikovskaya HPP-10 is located in the area of possible hole in the surface, TGC-9 will prepare the equipment of HPP-4 for bearing of increased loads and set in operation a new heat main.

As a result of the accident in the mine in Berezniki appearing of a hole in the surface is possible. The equipment and communications of Bereznikovskaya HPP-10 are also in the risk area. This HPP is one of three generating stations of TGC-9, located in Berezniki, it provides energy supply of the Western part of the city with the population of about 40 thousand people. Two other stations of TGC-9 – HPP-2 and HPP-4 – are located in the secure area.

To guarantee reliable heat supply of Berezniki in case of inability of continuation of full work of HPP-10, TGC-9 plans to organize the supply of heat energy to citizens and enterprises of the city from Bereznikovskaya HPP-4. For that the company plans by December 1^st, 2007 to build a new line of main heat networks 3,5 km long that will connect HPP-4 with the system of district heating of Berezniki. Works on this project are already being executed. Besides, the equipment of Bereznikovskaya HPP-4 is being additionally prepared for bearing of the increased load in winter period. The preliminary cost of works on construction of a new heat main and preparation of the equipment of HPP-4 is 360 million RUR.

In autumn of the year 2006, when the accident in potash mine happened TGC-9 took operative measures on provision of reliability of heat supply of Berezniki. In the shortest possible time – during a week – they transferred the gas conduit that provided Bereznikovskaya HPP-4 with fuel from the risk area of the possible hole in the surface. Besides, the station prepared maximum store of the reserve fuel for steady work of HPP in autumn-winter period of the years 2006-2007 and in future. The cost of gas conduit transfer in the year 2006 was approximately 26 million RUR.
