AO MOSENERGO launched on its web portal a new online resource ‘Competitive Procedures’ that makes it possible to hold tenders by using electronic commerce. In the future, the company plans to become an active participant of the federal electronic power trading system.
The use of online resources will help increase the number of participants and simplify competitive and regulated procedures. Thus, AO MOSENERGO plans to significantly reduce its costs by selecting suppliers and contractors whose terms are most beneficial for the company. Using electronic technologies, AO MOSENERGO plans to conduct no less than 50 competitive procedures on a quarterly basis. Tenders will be held in the open form and sometimes they will be closed in order to preserve commercial secrets or maintain corporate security.
This is not the first AO MOSENERGO step aimed at the development of electronic commerce. Earlier, AO MOSENERGO placed on its website information on open tenders so that anyone could get acquainted with the terms. AO MOSENERGO has rich experience in organizing tenders for supply, contract work and services. Last year, AO MOSENERGO held 1,018 competitive procedures for approximately 8.5 bn, which is 17% more compared to 2003. As a result, AO MOSENERGO saved 355 m rubles that will be spent on current operations and capacity increases.
In fact, AO MOSENERGO is ready to take part in the electronic trading held at federal trading floors. The company plans to join the information and trading system «Market Services in Technical Upgrade and Maintenance of Power Equipment» (B2B-Energo). AO MOSENERGO specialists who deal with competitive procedures have already been acquainted with the demo-version of this trading system. B2B-Energo floor was established in 2002 and provides wide opportunities in the area of information support, marketing and organization of various types of electronic online trading. It has good performance and prospects, as well as the experience in holding purchases via tenders involving the information trading support system. Participants in B2B-Energo include regional power companies, power stations and other RAO UES branches, as well as production, maintenance and design companies that operate in the power sector.
The use of Internet technologies and modern communication means is the most advanced form for conducting tenders. Due to this fact, electronic commerce has become the crucial factor in power-system development. This year, AO MOSENERGO plans to become a fully-fledged participant in electronic B2B-energo trading.
