On February 8, 2005 in Astana, the capital city of the Republic of Kazakhstan, there was held the meeting of "Kazakhstan-KAMAZ" Automotive Consortium participants. Results of 2004 and cooperation extension of Kazakhstan market in 2005 were the major topics of this meeting. There was also signed an Agreement on altering of the joint cooperation contract. Thus, a new Agreement includes two more participants into consortium. These are "Kazakhstan-Ingeneering", uniting military companies of Kazakhstan, and <ÖÀÒÝÊ> CJSC (Fuel-Energy Company of Central Asia).
In 2004 KAMAZ marketed to Kazakhstan 2,500 vehicle units, that is for 40% more vs. 2003. 430 trucks and special vehicles were leased for value of USD10 mln. The leasing program remains the most prior and effective way for advancing KAMAZ vehicles in Kazakhstan.
Danial Akhmetov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Republic, also took part in the meeting and showed his interest in the idea of organizing republican vehicle industry. The thing is that while negotiating Kintal Islamov, President of "Kazakhstan-KAMAZ" Consortium and Sergey Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc., informed about establishing of NEOBUS Joint Bus Production. The Company's founders are KAMAZ Inc., Astana-Finance JSC and <ÖÀÒÝÊ> CJSC.
