LUKOIL’s systems of industrial and ecological safety and labor protection were certified yet again today as being in accordance with the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards.

The international certification company Bureau Veritas audited the systems for the purpose of  re-certification in April 2004.

LUKOIL plans to have similar systems re-certified at all of its subsidiaries by 2007.

In July 2004, the OAO LUKOIL Management Committee approved “The Environmental Safety Program of LUKOIL Group for 2004-2008”. The program comprises some 400 measures with an overall cost of 34.5 billion rubles and is subdivided into eight blocs codenamed accordingly Clean Air; Clean Water; Waste; Reclamation; Accident Prevention and Elimination; Research and Development; Ecological Management; and Ecological Monitoring.
