Totally in 2011 it is planned to clean 733 hectares. The main scope of work will be carried out with the involvement of contractors.

In 2011, "Komienergo" will spend 24.1 million rubles to clear firebreaks along the transmission lines. Work is provided to improve the reliability of electricity supply to consumers of the Komi Republic. This operations reduce the risk of falling trees on power lines and wires.

For 5 months in 2011 were cleared 105 hectares: works are in excess of planned targets in 2 times. Totally in 2011 it is planned to clean 733 hectares, including power line (voltage of 6-20 kV) – 366 hectares , 35 kV - 138 hectares , 110 kV - 228 hectares. The main scope of work will be carried out with the involvement of contractors.

The costs for the same operations in 2010 amounted to 24.3 million rubles.

Clearing of firebreaks is included to the repair program of “Komienergo”. The annual providing of these operations is not only important from the standpoint of securing the wires along the transmission line; as well firebreaks  may be a natural barrier to the spread of fire in case of a forest fire.
