The symposium is one of the most competent all-Russia conferences in the field of instrument engineering industry where representatives of scientific and technical community, business and state regulation discuss topical problems faced by the Russian industry to ensure global competitiveness. Heads of federal institutions and establishments as well as honored Russian metrologists acted as mediators of breakout sessions and round tables. This year the symposium was devoted to the 90th anniversary of Rosstandart. In his report, Sergey Kargin, Head of the Metrology and Power Quality Department, noted that IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group) is the first company of electric grids complex that created efficiently operating vertically integrated four-level system of metrological support and power quality control. Complex of measures aimed to ensure uniformity of measurements adopted in IDGC of Volga, JSC includes timely submission of meters subject to state control and supervision for verification, arrangement for and performance of calibration of meters not subject to verification, use of certified methods of measurement, ensuring compliance accuracy characteristics of used meters with the requirements to accuracy of measurements of operational parameters, maintenance, repair of meters, metrological control and supervision. It is this approach that ensures required quality breakthrough in development of the metrological support system. Gradual build-up of forces of the metrological community makes it possible to improve accuracy, promptness, reliability of obtained measurement information necessary and sufficient for development of management solutions to improve efficiency and competitiveness of the Russian Federation on the whole.
