During his speech at the All-Russian meeting "On Results of 2017/2018 Autumn and Winter Period for Electric Power Engineering Entities", Pavel Livinskiy, Director General of ROSSETI, stated that due to the new approaches to preparing and managing the network infrastructure energy facilities during the peak loads, the holding company managed to improve the reliability of electric power supply qualitatively despite the growth in a number of hazardous meteorological phenomena.
The specific accident rate in 2017/2018 autumn and winter period decreased by 9% compared to the previous one, the average duration of power interruptions in case of technological violations was reduced by 19%, and the average time to restore power supply was 2.8 hours compared to 3.5 hours a year earlier.
Pavel Livinskiy pointed out that the number of dangerous weather conditions increased by 38% in the expired autumn and winter period. However, no constituent territory, including the regions of the Central Federal District, which experienced the "Snowfall of the Century" and the strongest hurricane in the history of meteorological observations this very year, the Rosseti Group power engineers prevented all the serious negative consequences for consumers, and the power supply interrupted by the severe weather was restored in the shortest possible time.
"All the measures implemented by ROSSETI professionals allowed the power grid complex to solve the key task of providing reliable and high-quality electric power supply to consumers in all regions where the company is presented with no reference to external factors", Pavel Livinskiy stated.
In his report, the Head of the power grid holding company also emphasized the plans to prepare the ROSSETI Group for the next autumn and winter period that include additional exercises and training to drill the operational stuff's practical skills, including involvement of regional offices of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and other services and departments.
Pavel Livinskiy further stated that the scope of financing repair program in 2018 will be approximately 64 billion rubles that is 5% more in comparison with the last year. The ROSSETI Group plans to repair more than 178,000 km of overhead and cable electric lines, to break new ground and widen more than 135,000 ha of overhead transmission lines having bared it from trees and shrubs, and to overhaul 37,000 transformer substations.
