Power engineers of Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), reported the results of their transformer repair program. For 10 months of 2016, power engineers in power supply network departments of the branch restored and adjusted 622 transformers of all voltage classes.
Planned repairs of 232 transformers were carried out with dismantling and transportation to specialized workshops, which were arranged at the bases of the Vostochny, Tsentralny, Zapadny, Severny and Orsky Production Departments. During this time, workshops employees conducted fault detection and eliminated detected faults in the windings, switches, tanks, magnetic circuits, about 36 tonnes of spent transformer oil were drained and sent for recovery. On average, up to 23 transformers of 6-10 kV were repaired per month in Orenburgenergo workshops.
Each of the repaired parts and transformers in a whole were tested by the branch specialists in the electrical laboratory and only after positive results they were sent to the substation. 35-110 kV transformers, repair of which was carried out without dismantling, were tested using mobile electrical laboratories.
Repairs of transformers are a part of the integrated program for the preparation of the equipment for the autumn and winter period. Reliability of power supply to consumers depends on the qualitative repair performance.
