Within the framework of the annual repair program, specialists of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), proceeded to operations at 110 kV Zavolzhskaya 1,2 overhead transmission line and 35 kV Vodozabor 3,4 overhead transmission line in the Zavolzhskiy and Leninskiy districts of the city. These lines ensure power supply to consumers of Nizhnyaya Terrasa microdistrict, Ulyanovskaya Damba and Vodokanal. In the course of the overhaul, the power engineers plan to replace about 1,300 insulators and line accessories, and to perform termite welding of sleeves which will improve reliability of contact joints. Insulators strings will be double secured at points of intersection with railways and motorways. Moreover, metal elements of supports will be also painted, safety signs and information plates will be renovated, and reinforced concrete tower bodies will be treated with a special solution preventing penetration of moisture and exposure to temperature drops. Furthermore, at 110 kV Zavolzhskaya 1,2 line, it is planned to replace several sections of lightning protection cables and vibration dampers which reduce impact of external effects and preserve wire conditions at the attaching points. All in all, in the course of operations employees of the Regional Service of High-Voltage Transmission Lines will repair more than 23 km of power transmission lines. Repair operations will cause no troubles for consumers: in the period of operations at one of the lines power supply to all consumers will be ensured through a standby circuit. Successful completion of the repair program will make it possible to ensure quality and reliable power supply to individual and a number of major consumers of the Zavolzhskiy and Leninskiy districts of the Ulyanovsk region.
